The 5th year Granville Turkey Trot started yesterday and according to newarkadvocate.com reports that this year’s race raised about $16,000 for the Food Pantry Network of Licking County which is sponsored by Jennie-O Turkey Store.

Event organizer Bruce Westall said that this season of 5K Turkey Trot seemed to attract a large audience ever. The crowd is estimated to 1,200. Running across the finish line is Amy Chrysler while holding in her arms her 6 months old nephew. Her nephew Jack was first on the stroller while fully dressed in his turkey costume but later she need to him since Jack got cranky along the way.
